Barspotting: Springfield! Springfield! It’s a Helluva Town!

Skybox

The Yeti is going out of town for the weekend and we’re hoping to make it out to see the Border War in Springfield, MO.  We here at the KCCGD wish you the warmest of holidays and we expect to knocked out completely after the three, yes count ’em, THREE turkey meals coming our way.  Hopefully, by Saturday we’ll be ready at Skybox to enjoy some traditional college football.  Until then, it’s a turkey bonanza!

When: Saturday 29th, 2008
Where: Skybox1271 E Montclair St Springfield, MO 65804
Time: 11 am for the Border War
Games:

Games:  Another week of big rivalries!  The biggest one of course being the Border War between Kansas and Missouri.  The best game at Arrowhead this year takes place this Saturday and it will be a War.  Not a Showdown, a War.  Other rivalries, with the same kind of luster, is the Egg Bowl between Mississippi State and Mississippi, the Lone Star Showdown between Texas A&M and Texas, and the Governer’s Cup being up for grabs between Florida and Florida State.  What’s with the goofy names for rivalries?  We’ll never know.  Oh and there’s the big game of the week between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State to close out the busy night.

I believe the Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State game is referred to as the Bedlam Series. I guess there are a bunch of lunies over there….

BTW: Thank you for accurately referring to the MU vs. KU series as the Border War. Those “showdown” bleeding hearts suck turkey fries.

I’M THANKFUL FOR COLLEGE FOOTBALL (and gravy)!!!!

  • Hopefully our rivals down at Shelbyville don’t start a border war for realski.
