Barspotting: Stadiumspotting Returns to Lawrence

Memorial Stadium

But not for the Sunflower Showdown.  My beautiful and football lovin’ girlfriend is letting the Purple Yeti hitch a ride with her and her bid-ness down to Memorial Stadium for the big Oklahoma vs Kansas game.  Both teams roll into the game suffering a loss to Texas and Colorado respectively so one of them will bounce back.  Which one will it be?  We’re not sure.  How many of us will be sober?  Well, we know the answer to that one.  At any rate, we’ll report on every debaucherous action, on and off the field.

When: Saturday, October 24, 2009
Time: 12:00 Noon as the bus goes
Where: University of Kansas Memorial Stadium1000 W 11th St Lawrence, KS 66045

Notes:  The Purdue Cannon is up for grabs this week when Illinois takes on Purdue.  The Keg of Nails gets handed out to the winner of the Louisville and Cincinnatti game.  Then we get the Bell delivered to the Tulane and Southern Miss winner.  Finally, for the equipment of the week, the Holy War that is Boston College against Notre Dame will turn out the Ireland Trophy.  Nothing huge for Top 25 match ups this week except for the TCU and BYU game.  We’ll find out if TCU is more for real after this weekend.  Big 12 wise, Oklahoma State looks to roll over Baylor, Iowa State tries to trip up Nebraska, Colorado heads to Manhattan to battle Big 12 North leader Kansas State, Oklahoma looks to bounce back in Lawrence and upset Kansas, Texas Tech will destroy Texas A&M, and Texas looks to make a statement against Missouri.  We have a big conference weekend but nothing titillates much outside of that.
