It’s Halloween weekend (-ish, it’s on Monday) and the weather is finally starting to reflect that down here in Austin.  I have to get used to it being hot rolling into late October.  This weekend has a big ole cold front blowing through and I’m already feeling the chills.  That’s the sign on fall that I need and it fits right in the super creepy Halloween theme.  The action of the field and on the Pick It and Stick It is still smoking hot.  Keltron3000 is breaking away from the pack but others are hot on her heels.  Kansas State is up for the game of their lives, well more like the game of the year, as they host Oklahoma.  So grab some Candy Corn and let’s check out the picks: Continue reading PIck It and Stick It 2011 Week 09: This Is Giving Me Chills →

Okay, after a road trip to Lawrence, we were back in the saddle of barspotting and what better place to do it at than none other than Coach’s Bar & Grill.  Coach’s advertises only the best in sports bars as well as being one of the oldest in Kansas City.  We spotted some sweet games there and also enjoyed the festivities, it was Halloween you know.  Some things surprised us and some things spooked us.  Read on for some chilling tales and pray that you survive the night, er, post.

Barspotting: Coach’s Draws Up Our Football Watching Gameplan

We’re finally recovered from our road trip to Lawrence last week and now we’re ready to hit another barspot.  This week the KCCGD crew is heading down the state line and watching some spooky activities at Coach’s Bar and Grill.  A main stay for good number of years, they claim to be the oldest sports bar in Kansas City, we finally make our way to see if the place is scary.  Yup, it’s Halloween too so maybe we’ll dress up in our favorite sports announcer outfit and call the game live.  Who should we dress up as?  Let us know in the comments.

Notes:  Not that many big time games going on this weekend as we’re guessing that many people will be trick or treating instead.  Why did they schedule the bigger games for the evening?  Many fathers will be inside making the moms go out and take the kids while watching USC take on Oregon and Texas taking on Oklahoma State.  Sure there’s rivalries like the battle for the Ram Falcon Trophy, the Battle for the Rag, and the World’s Largest Cocktail Party, but outside of that it’s all Big 12 games.  Nothing much else here, good luck trying to pay attention while the kids ring the doorbell.
