Dart Board Predictions For 2015: Scarcity Brings Quality Shots

DartBoard

It’s been awhile but I’m finally back again.   College football saw it’s first playoff last year and, although the Big 12 wasn’t represented, we were entertained.  That’s all we can ask.  I hear virtually no one ask on the interwebs where I’ve been, so I’ll answer that shortly.  But first, here’s my dart board predictions for 2015. Pick It And Stick It: Stuffed With Games

stuffed

So it’s Thanksgiving weekend which makes it kinda funny that it’s also Hate Week.  We give thanks to what we have in this world and what’s to come, but at the same time we also unleash the rivalry hatred that builds up within us the whole fall.  It’s quite exhilarating.  We have joy and, half the time, have some hate joy.  I can’t explain it.  I’m just enjoying the ride.  And the turkey. Pick It And Stick It: I Need A Barf Bag

070312_53_MSY_Dee_Barf_Bag

Now it’s time for full football mode. I was distracted by the Kansas City Royals doing the unthinkable, only to lose on the last out of the last game, but I’m back and ready to put my full focus on college football. The timing merges gracifully with the timing of the College Football Playoff coming out with their Top 25 rankings. Do I have issues with that? Will Kansas State roll this weekend? How about any upsets? Let’s find out. Continue reading Pick It And Stick It: I Need A Barf Bag

Pick It And Stick It: Better Late Than Whatever

better-late-than-never-detail

Yeah I’m a little late with this one, but I’ll blame ESPN College GameDay and ole Lee Corso for my tardiness.  Hey, what can I say I really wanted to see which head he puts on his head.  So it’s lightning quick pick it and stick time.  The big one is the early one and there’s another to cap the night as well.  Let’s put our pants on and fix our hair real quick and get to this. Pick It And Stick It: ESPN College GameDay In Big 12 Country? Finally!

collegegamedayoklahomastatebaylor

It took up until the last remaining weeks of the season but ESPN finally felt it worthy to grace their college football presence in Big 12 country.  All it took was a still undefeated Baylor and a one loss Oklahoma State to do it.  And boy that will be a shootout.  Kapwing!  We also have a couple of tasty Top 25 match ups and a HUGE game for Alabama as they take on Chattanooga.  Let’s get the show started. Pick It and Stick It: Coming Up Dry

indynosepcking

Last week wasn’t too hot for me but at least I had the Game of the Century of the Week called.  In fact, there were so many great games last week, I almost didn’t mind that I did pretty dang poorly in the picks.  Well, I hope this week I hit hard on my picks because the slate of games looks pretty dang dry.   Let’s see what we got. Bowl Pick It and Stick It 2011: 6 and 8 Split

Yes, it’s bowl season and I’ve got a hankering for one more Bowl Pick It and Stick It.  This time bowling is more exciting for me outside of the BCS Bowls.  Part of it is the fact that Kansas State got jipped out of an appearance at the Sugar Bowl, but the other part is that the line up BCS wise is just not interesting enough.  The Sugar and the Orange are lame.  The BCS National Championship Game is a rematch of boredom.  The Fiesta and Rose look good but the overall product leaves me underwhelmed.  That’s what I’m stoked for the Cotton Bowl.  It’s non BCS and has a top 10 BCS match up with Kansas State taking on Arkansas.  SEC vs Big 12.  Hell yeah.  Click on through for the Bowl Pick It and Stick It information.

Remember it’s a straight up pick but you can rank your confidence from 1 to 35.  What other bowls are interesting you ask?  Well, let’s start with the Big 12.  Baylor and Washington look good for the Alamo Bowl, thanks to Robert Griffin III’s Hesiman win.  Oklahoma playing Iowa for the first time in forever in the Insight Bowl sees Sooner head coach Bob Stoops head to his alma mater.  What other games look good?  How about the Outback Bowl with Georgia taking on Michigan State, another version of the BCS snub bowl.  That’s about it for me.  The others are decent but they just don’t jump out to me.  Come back every Monday from here on out, though and we’ll go over the picks.

Pick It and Stick It 2011 Week 13: Plucking One Out

Ho man, am I stuffed.  I never thought that I would be as stuffed as I was away from the family on the Thanksgiving as I am now.  I know for certain that Thanksgiving is one of the best holidays out there now.  Family is really getting together with friends and loved ones.  Thanksgiving is a reason to get together with family and totally gorge yourself.  I need to hit the gym pronto but first I will go over the Pick It and Stick It for this week.  It’s some doozies and I mostly excited that great games come one after the other.  It was like the second, third, and fourth helpings for me on Thanksgiving.  Here’s the pick set:

Pick It and Stick It 2011 Week 11: Saucy Selections

Oh yeah!  I’m already thinking about what to do for the tailgating experience this weekend.  I’m not sure if we actually have a spot to smoke some meat so we may be grilling guerilla style.  What does that mean?  Slapping some meat in a backpack and finding some friendlies for grilling.  It should be quite the adventure.  Speaking of adventure, the corner has turned for Bryce Brown for Heisman.  It’s up to the rest of the league to catch up.  Let’s take a look at the pick set: Continue reading Pick It and Stick It 2011 Week 11: Saucy Selections

Stadiumspotting: Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium

Alrighty, I’ve been waiting for this all year.  This week Kansas States heads to my new hometown in Austin to take on the Texas Longhorns at Darrel K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.  It’s going to be another epic battle because that’s what the Wildcats to me and my heart.  The spread is 10 points in Texas favor.  I don’t know why but I’m okay with that.  Kansas State have been underdogs all year around.  Amongst the gamesmanship, this will be my first trip to the stadium.  I’m very curious how the Longhorns treat visitors as well as how they whole football experience stacks up there. It’s gonna be a great time.

Pick It and Stick It 2011 Week 11: Just Don’t Pick It There

Okay, it’s getting to be that time of year.  We had a quick preview of it last night.  Well the whole week, actually.  As the season goes on now, there will be some games on every day of the week.   We’ll definitely be knee deep into over Thanksgiving in a couple of weeks.  But already last night was an epic match up between Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech.  I just hope they don’t pile on big time games on Tuesdays.  Tuesdays are for me.   Please college football, don’t take my Tuesdays away.  It’s the only real day I can recharge and get juiced for another week fo college football.  I hope they don’t pick Tuesday but I do hope they Pick It and Stick It.  Here’s this week’s fodder:

Pick It and Stick It 2011 Week 10: Tasty Nuggets of Joy

I have to admit, I am getting excited about going to a BBQ this weekend.  It’s fun running around the city and checking out new places, but the home cooked food and good times with peeps you know is always a welcomed change of pace.  It will be a little awkward, however, as I’ll be sneaking my laptop on over to get ready for the big night games heading our way.  I more than likely will not be watching two games at once, but I will be prepared just in case.  For everyone else, prepare yourselves for the Pick It and Stick It.

Yeah the night games have high contrasts in terms of spreads.  Kansas State and Oklahoma State have a huge 21 point difference while Alabama and LSU have only 4.5.  Yeah I know Arkansas and South Carolina are close together too at 5.0.  Out of those, I think LSU will make it a toss up.  Sorry but Kansas State blew its wad already and it will be hard to watch via streaming laptop Saturday night.  Meanwhile, earlier in the day, there is nothing exciting.  Big 12 wise, Texas is up big on Texas Tech, but that will be closer.  Iowa State should hang one on the pathetic Kansas Jayhawks.  Oklahoma will run right over Texas A&M.  That Baylor against Missouri will be a shoot out.  Everything else is seriously blah.

Pick It Standings 2011 Week 09: Waking Up From The Candy Coma

Yesterday was rough for me.  I didn’t expect to go into work to load up on candy, but I’ll be damned if the nice people I work with had loads of candy for me to nom on.  I skipped lunch entirely all because of it.  Some solid food found its way in my belly later on in the night, but it was no use.  The sugar shock went to major crash and I’m just waking up from the coma.  What better time than now to go over the Pick It and Stick It Standings?  There’s nothing sweet in there that I know of.

PIck It and Stick It 2011 Week 09: This Is Giving Me Chills

It’s Halloween weekend (-ish, it’s on Monday) and the weather is finally starting to reflect that down here in Austin.  I have to get used to it being hot rolling into late October.  This weekend has a big ole cold front blowing through and I’m already feeling the chills.  That’s the sign on fall that I need and it fits right in the super creepy Halloween theme.  The action of the field and on the Pick It and Stick It is still smoking hot.  Keltron3000 is breaking away from the pack but others are hot on her heels.  Kansas State is up for the game of their lives, well more like the game of the year, as they host Oklahoma.  So grab some Candy Corn and let’s check out the picks: Continue reading PIck It and Stick It 2011 Week 09: This Is Giving Me Chills

PIck It Standings Week 08: Shake Rattle N Roll

Yes, we have not one, but two big upsets to deal with this week in Pick It and Stick It Standings.  Unfortunately, there’s not real upsets with the picks, but with Oklahoma and Wisconsin losing there is a major reorganization in the BCS Standings.  Things are starting to unravel quickly in the tightly wound Big 12 race now that Oklahoma lost.  Unfortunately for me, that means that ESPN College GameDay won’t be in Manhattan when the Sooners take on the undefeated Kansas State Wildcats.  That’s fine because I think they play better when they are under the radar.  Much like me and my status for Pick It and Stick It.  Let’s check out the standings.
