Pick It And Stick It: Stuffed With Games

stuffed

So it’s Thanksgiving weekend which makes it kinda funny that it’s also Hate Week.  We give thanks to what we have in this world and what’s to come, but at the same time we also unleash the rivalry hatred that builds up within us the whole fall.  It’s quite exhilarating.  We have joy and, half the time, have some hate joy.  I can’t explain it.  I’m just enjoying the ride.  And the turkey. Pick It And Stick It: It’s For The Birds

wildcateatingjayhawk

It’s Friday and it’s late.  I successfully avoided Black Friday and took the brunt of Thanksgiving yesterday.  I took a day off yesterday and am now finally recovered enough to spit out my finger pickin’s flakes of college football destiny.  Thanksgiving was a day for family and this weekend it’s been a family of rivalries.  Heck I’m watching the Civil War at the moment (that’s Oregon vs Oregon State).  We get more rivalries tomorrow and it’s time to give thanks and give picks to see who comes out on top. Chilling Out After Being Stuffed

Man I”m chilling here in the ole home office watching some old episodes of Doctor Who and reflecting on the long holiday weekend that was in college football.  I didn’t go anywhere and opted to be completely lazy.  Turkey day was a smash and I ended up falling asleep pretty fast on the couch.  The NFL games were exciting for once.  But there were two full days of college football that I had to watch.  I’m not sure I remember much so I’ll be short and sweet on this.

Crib Sheet: Coaches Poll Leaves No Surprises

The ESPN/USA Today coaches preseason bowl came out and there’s no surprise with Oklahoma notched at number 1.  That happened a couple of years ago and they lost their first game.  Yup, it doesn’t matter who’s where right now, but what matters is that it’s the horn blasting the announcement that the college football season is ramping up for real now.  Another thing to note, the Big 12/0  has half of their teams in the Top 25.  Usually they have 6 but since a couple of teams left, they can only muster 5.  Fair enough, on to this week’s Crib Sheet:

Crib Sheet: It’s Almost Over

It’s the last real week of college football for about a month so let’s get down to Crib Sheet business.  Bowls are coming, invitations are going out, and we have a good chuck on news for you to nibble on.  Let’s check it out:

Pick It Standings Week 14: Getting Back On The Treadmill Track

We’re coming into the last week of the Pick It and Stick It and we have some movement in the standings.  We also have some major movement in the BCS Standings.  Any kind of movement is great after the weekend that was in Thanksgiving Day turkey massacres. So I’m heading back to the gym and getting ready for conference championship weekend.  I also have a play at the Pick It and Stick It Championship so there will be some mental squats done to build up my Pick It muscle.  Let’s take a look at the long weekend that was first.

GameDay: KCGGD’s Best Weekend Evar

Okay, so no, I’m not talking about VH1 and guests like Chris Jericho and the unfunny guy from The State, I’m talking about college football!  Every year I’m reminded that we get piles upon piles of traditional football matchups on top of piles and piles of turkey.  This year is a little different, however.  The rivalry games are all over the place, but alot of them have national title implications.  It’s only halfway through the weekend and already the BCS title race has been blown up, kinda.

Pick It And Stick It: Better Late Than Never

Okay, so it’s a little late, but I was enthralled with the bevy of college football that was on a Friday.  So I apologize for being late, but it’s better than never.   I know everyone out there was sitting there wondering just what the latest pick set was available in between the football and more football today.  Welp, we had some picks for today come and go but we also have some ready to  rock for tomorrow.  If you got the time like I do on this long Thanksgiving Day Weekend, then check out the picks and see how you’ve fared.

Homespotting: My Home and Yours for Turkey Day Weekend

You know, when I started this blog, it was all about going out.  My main reason was to watch college football at its maximum potential.  I couldn’t afford a rig so a bar was the next best thing.  I’ve watched some football before at home but this time I’m going all out.  The games are spread out perfectly, not unlike a Thanksgiving dinner, this weekend so I figured what better way to graze on the games while I graze on leftovers by staying home and watching it from KCCGD Headquarters.  Happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there and I hope you have as much fun watching the great action as I do.

Mascot Monday: Big Al

Big Al’s in the house this week as we are one more mascot away from completing the top mascots that we have yet to cover from Phil Steele’s Preseason Top 40.  The #3 Alabama Crimson Tide won the big shiny ball last year and look to repeat this year with returning Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram carrying the rock.  The competition is hot in the SEC and what better hot weather animal to have around as a mascot then the elephant known as Big Al.  We were just as confused as you may be as to why a team by the name of Crimson Tide employs and elephant mascot.  We’ll find that out as well as how we think Alabama finishes out the season.
