This weekend sees the culmination of what looks to be another Cinderella season for my obvious homer cheered Kansas State Wildcats. They head to Morgantown this weekend to take on the hobbling West Virginia Mountaineers. This is make it or break time for both programs and Saturday’s game will determine who will stay on the national stage and who will steep back down into the conference championship race. Oh there’s some other games going on this weekend, but this is the big one for me and for most of the nation (Big 12 nation, okay?). Continue reading Pick It And Stick It: It’s A Big One To Finger

Purple Yeti Roar 39: I Ames To Please
Puns aside, I go over the Big 12 action that was last weekend, all the while pointing toward the massive game Saturday night when Kansas State heads to Morgantown to take on West Virginia. I also talk about the BCS rankings and the teams involved, minus Oregon (sorry guys!). Start getting pumped, we are halfway through the season and it’s about to get even more jacked. Continue reading Purple Yeti Roar 39: I Ames To Please
Pick It and Stick It: Up Early For Farmageddon
While most of the Big 12 World is watching the Red River Shootout, I’ll be watching Farmageddon. It’s a trap game for the Kansas State Wildcats and I hope they pull it together and sneak out of Ames with a victory. The rest of the Big 12 plays but frankly I don’t care so much, except maybe for West Virginia at Texas Tech. No upsets there. Yeah it’s an abbreviated Pick It and Stick It, but I’m going to at least get my point across. Continue reading Pick It and Stick It: Up Early For Farmageddon
Purple Yeti Roar 38: Kansas State Dominance
I’m talking about how Kansas State continuously takes care of business against the in state brother for Kansas. Tune in and watch me talk about the Big 12 games from the weekend and the Big 12 games coming up. Oh yeah, I’ll talk some Top 25 match ups and some overrated SEC stuff. Let the dominance continue. Continue reading Purple Yeti Roar 38: Kansas State Dominance
Pick It And Stick It: Finding Some Seeds
It’s Sunflower Showdown weekend! While it’s nice that Charlie Weiss is trying to get his Kansas kids up for the game and refocus rivalry juice toward Manhattan, Bill Snyder has been doing that exact thing for much of his tenure. But we can get into that later. There’s a wealth of great games this weekend both inside and outside the Big 12. We’ll know much more where teams will be seeded in the national championship race after this weekend. Time to Pick It and Stick It. Continue reading Pick It And Stick It: Finding Some Seeds
Purple Yeti Roar 37: Bye To Last Week, Get Ready For This Week
Yeah least week was kind of a snoozer, but I watched every possilbe minute of action from my couched sideline. This week I talk Texas, David Ash, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Iowa State, Steele Jantz, TCU, SMU, The Iron Skillet, Baylor, West Virginia, Geno Smith, Kansas, Charlie Weiss, Dayne Crist, Kansas State, and Bill Snyder. Continue reading Purple Yeti Roar 37: Bye To Last Week, Get Ready For This Week
Pick It and Stick It: Bye Bye Love
It’s a little late but why the hell not. I’m going to dump out another Pick It and Stick It. It’s a bye week for Kansas State and this week’s games are hardly that interesting. But I poked and prodded around and found a couple of good reasons to flap my gums about the weekend’s games. Much to no one’s surprise, the games I’m into this weekend are from the Big 12. Continue reading Pick It and Stick It: Bye Bye Love
Purple Yeti Roar 36: Jars And Short Yards
So it was another great week of football and it started in Norman. Kansas State upset Oklahoma. I’ll talk about that and the other games of the weekend as well as look forward to some quasi exciting action for week 5.
Purple Yeti Roar 33: Week 01 Recap and Laborious Labor Day
Yes, it’s day video time! I’m taking a break from my tough Labor Day festivities to recap what I saw in week 1 of college football. Kansas State looked alright, the Big 12 did great, and Michigan tanked hard. All that and more on this week’s Purple Yeti Roar. Continue reading Purple Yeti Roar 33: Week 01 Recap and Laborious Labor Day
Kansas State Football Preview 2012: Always The Underdog
Another year of Kansas State football is upon us and there’s some weird mixed feelings going on. Maybe not in Manhattan, but certainly down here in Austin and in this Purple Yeti’s abode. You see, part of me wants to believe that Kansas State will improve upon its amazing record from last year, but another wants to believe in the negative hype the so called sports media jams down my throat. Is everyone writing off Kansas State too easily, or will reality hit hard for the little Wildcats from the Little Apple? Continue reading Kansas State Football Preview 2012: Always The Underdog
A Better Big 12 For 2012
Ah yeah, the Big 12 is back baby! Oh well, it didn’t really go anywhere. Compared to last year, this offseason was a walk in the park. Why is that? Well, we have some new faces in the mix and some old faces hit the road. I think truly for the first time in the last 3 years, there is some stability here. That makes me happy. What makes me happier is the new season so let’s see how this conference shakes out. Continue reading A Better Big 12 For 2012
Purple Yeti Roar 23: Reckless Irish Eyeballin’
So this week I’m excited to present my takes on college football with a tasty sun drenched backlight! Besides my production glee, I delve into Notre Dame’s batted eyes for another conference. Namely the Big 12. But if that gets too sappy, I’ll talk about UCLA, Kansas State, Texas, Texas Tech, Harvey Updyke, and College Football Playoffs Continue reading Purple Yeti Roar 23: Reckless Irish Eyeballin’
Crib Sheet: The End Is Nigh
Yup, we have a handful of games to go for this bowl season. It’s been a pretty great run so far. The weekend saw some great finishes and exciting shootouts. I’m going to miss college football much like everyone else out there after the last whistle blows. Until that whistle tweets its last tweet, we got a few more Crib Sheets to pass around as well. The news wasn’t too quiet as we get to see more coaching changes and draft declarations now. So let’s get right down to it:
Crib Sheet: Time To Go On A Diet
Well, it’s certainly been a recovery week now, hasn’t it? We’ve got one more week of college football and I’m still wiped out from last week. I guess it’s time to go on a diet. Or at least a flash one. I’ve got about three weeks to slim back down and it’s going to be rough. The diet starts today with the Crib Sheet. Most of the news out there is just hype over the SEC, so I’m not going to waste your time on that. There is, however, some small tasty nuggets of news that you are all welcome to bite into. But after that I need 20 push ups. And… GO!
Chilling Out After Being Stuffed
Man I”m chilling here in the ole home office watching some old episodes of Doctor Who and reflecting on the long holiday weekend that was in college football. I didn’t go anywhere and opted to be completely lazy. Turkey day was a smash and I ended up falling asleep pretty fast on the couch. The NFL games were exciting for once. But there were two full days of college football that I had to watch. I’m not sure I remember much so I’ll be short and sweet on this.
