It’s ever so toasty down here in Austin, so I will keep this intro short and then grab some water. I broke a sweat already. Here’s this week’s Crib Sheet:

Another week of Mascot Monday and I’m getting into the groove of going over mascots from schools that have been in the news recently. It’s admittedly hard to come up with wacky mascots when you’ve been eyeballing costumed characters for as long as I have. So this week’s big news is the buyout of West Viriginia’s Bill Stewart so coach in waiting Dana Holgorsen can take over. If you remember, Holgorsen was in trouble for some casino incident but it was later found out that Stewart or a Stewart supporter started a smear campaign against him. This week we’ll let the story of The Mountaineer teach us something about competitive respect.

I’m recovered from Memorial Day, thanks to some fresh water and aloe vera. I did my part in taking a day of rest to recognize all of the great things our troops have done for America for its young history. I hope you did the same. Now I didn’t rest too much as the Crib Sheet must still keep chucking along. Here’s week’s edition:

It’s a huge week of news on the Crib Sheet so let’s get cracking:

Here we are in the middle of bowl season. I got some good gear for Xmas and I hope you got some too. The bowl action was light in the last week, but we are now ramping up into the meat of the schedule. Most of the Big 12 schools will be playing this week and there will be ample action in between. Meanwhile, I Bowl Pick It and Stick It standings are out are some peeps jumping out of the gate quick. Let’s look at that first:

Happy Holidays from everyone here at KC College GameDay! We’ll be taking a break over the holiday weekend and soak in some presents and bowls. I hope you all have a great time and we’ll see you next Tuesday for an update to the Bowl Pick It and Stick It. In the meantime, here’s this week’s Crib Sheet:

So way back in 2007 we went on a road trip up to Iowa and now we are finally heading back. Des Moines, specifically. Much has happened up there and we’re itching to see what’s changed. We’re gonna do the same thing we did with Wichita and just pick a spot. Same stips’ apply. If you are lucky enough to be in the Des Moines area or want to follow us on up there, check out this page or our twitter feed (@kccgd) and we’ll let you know. Until then, we got some tasty roasted corn like games for the weekend that you need to check out.

Alrighty Week 2 of college football happened and we still don’t know what happened. Yup, there were some major blowouts, but not from the teams we expected. The FCS schools reared its ugly head and knocked out some schools (including at top 25 team). So how would that affect the pick set? Welp, just about as a bad as Kansas losing to North Dakota State or Virginia Tech losing the James Madison (the school, not the president). Thankfully, we have some rules set up to account for bad weeks. Click on through to find out.

It’s time to go camping! The teams are gearing up and we geared up for our own camp adventure last week. :
Bowl season and, well, the whole college football season is almost over. We have one more HUGE game left. No, not the GMAC Bowl tonight, but the BCS National Championship game! We here at the KCCGD promise you that we will keep the hype to a minimum as the other outlets have that way covered. So, in lieu of that, we will have another exciting rendition of the Crib Sheet. Some emotional coaching moments happened in the last week, both high and low, so let’s get right to it:

Here we go! Bowl season starts tomorrow and we got your Bowl Pick It and Stick It ready to go! It’s the somewhat the same format as the regular season. For each of the 34 bowl games, you will need to assign confidence points. So for whoever you think will win the strongest, should get the highest confidence points and vice versa for the weakest. What’s different is the you need to pick the winner straight up. There is no spread points to play off of for the bowls. So head on over to Yahoo! Fantasy Sports and sign up! We’ll go over the bowls after break but first, here’s the info:

As expected, there is a ton of news this week. Conference championships are over, coaches are fired, kids are leaving for the NFL, and the bowls are lighting up. Here’s this week’s Crib Sheet while we go do some Christmas Shopping:

This week we passed over the voting in lieu of celebrating a friends birthday. Granted some of us must work this weekend and can only squeeze in some night game, but that’s okay. Why? We are heading back to Paddy O’Quigley’s but we are doing down in south Leawood. The last O’Quigley’s was a bland and boring experience and since then it has closed down. We are hopeful that Saturday brings us a better event. It doesn’t matter really because a 30th birthday will be had. Come on out and help us celebrate!

It was bound to happen. It could only be so long before we found out way there. And so, thanks to your voting, we will be barspotting for KC College Gameday at Hooter’s. If you don’t know what it is, then you probably never will be there. Essentially it’s vehicle for putting women in tight clothes and making them overly friendly. Word around the street, though, is their wings and cheese fries are top notch. Being the guy magnet it makes no apologies to be, they also have sports packages available. So we’re gonna find out this week if Hooter’s is a great place to watch sports as well as the talent.

We were unfortunate last night not to witness the Nebraska and Missouri game. Though the radio was on, we couldn’t get a good grasp of just how muddy and mucky it was to play. 2-0 at halftime is a wacky score. But we didn’t expect Missouri to choke away the game and 27 points in the fourth quarter. What did we find out? Nebraska has the fast track to the Big 12 North title. Missouri is much like their new quarterback Blaine Gabbert: young, inexperienced, talented, but not yet ready. The Tigers did reload this year, but the bullet jammed up a bit last night. Let’s jam on to this week’s Pick It and Stick It:
